Benefits of Yin Yoga:
- The postures gently stress our connective tissue in a yin way, which helps to increase fluidity and suppleness in the physical body.
- Yin postures are a beautiful container for mindfulness practices.
- The practice punctuates our busyness, a gentle reminder that life is not always about doing and producing.
- Every time we calm the nervous system, it has a flow-on effect on the rest of our lives.
- Yin is a reminder to slow down. When we slow down we get to see and feel the miracle of our embodiment—the gentlest pulse of our heart, the sweet release in the rebound the surge of emotion that washes through us.
YIN - lingering postures, to help release accumulated physical tensions.
YANG - easeful yoga flows connecting breath with movement
RESTORE - nurturing relaxation to finish, leaving you ready for rest and sleep.
What to Bring /Do·
- New students, please fill in the Health & Contact Form
- A yoga or exercise mat, bring yoga bricks/blocks if you have them
- A blanket, to sit on and to use for relaxation
- You are welcome to bring a bolster if you have one, I will offer some options so you can use yours, however, bolsters are not essential for the practice of Yin Yoga.
- Wear comfortable clothes that you can move in
- If you need to borrow a mat or blocks please let me know, I have a few spare for new students.
